The Arts

Throughout the year you'll find cultural arts programs, concerts and other special events. Close by is the Amphitheater at Regency Park, Cary's state-of-the-art performance center nestled in the trees by a lake, featuring concerts by the NC Symphony and other performances.

NC Symphony

Cary's Lazy Daze Arts and Crafts Festival in the downtown area has been noted as one of the South's premier festivals.

Sports

ACC basketball, national league ice hockey, minor league baseball, united soccer league, and college football provide sports fans with plenty of excitement.

NC BasketballThe Triangle is home to three top ACC Basketball schools, 2006 Stanley Cup champs Carolina Hurricanes, and the Durham Bulls (famous for the 1988 movie Bull Durham starring Kevin Costner and Susan Sarandon).

In the fall you'll hear cheers as Triangle residents root for college team favorites the North Carolina Tar Heels, NC State Wolfpack, and Duke's Blue Devils. Soccer fans cheer for the Carolina Railhawks at the SAS Soccer Park in Cary. Additionally, the annual Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic attracts celebrities from the sporting and entertainment worlds to raise money for cancer research.

Beaches and Mountains

Living in Cary places you just a two-hour drive from the Atlantic Coast for fun in the sun at the ocean on our east coast... close enough for a day trip.

NC BeachesFor longer trips, extend the drive north to the legendary Outer Banks for a peaceful retreat bathed in serenity and natural beauty. Or, travel south to lounge under a clear blue sky at the beach by day and discover the thrills of amusements and entertainment by night at the fun-filled Myrtle Beach area in South Carolina.

A trip to the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains to our West is only a three-hour drive. Popular attractions include Grandfather Mountain, best known for its mile-high swinging bridge and nature preserve; and the Biltmore Estate, a French Renaissance-inspired chateau near Asheville, North Carolina that welcomes about one-million visitors each year from around the world.
